Coffee Brewing Tips- Make Your Best Cup of Coffee

Whenever possible, buy whole beans directly from a coffee roaster. Doing this ensures that you're getting:

1. The best value. You're removing the middle-man, which means that you aren't paying unneeded mark-up costs.

2. The freshest roast. Ordering directly from a small coffee roaster guarantees that your coffee is roasted to order; not stored in a warehouse for months before it gets to you.

Buy coffee stored in valve-sealed bags.

By using a valve-sealed bag, Paradise Valley Coffee is able to package the coffee within minutes of a completed roast. The one-way valve allows the CO2 to escape without allowing oxygen in to degrade the fresh roasted flavor. Some roasters pack their coffee into vacuum-sealed bags. This means the coffee has to sit out in the open air for up to 2-3 days to de-gas the CO2 from the bean. Otherwise, the gas will fill and burst a vacuum-sealed bag.

Buy and keep whole bean coffee until you're ready to brew.

Grind your beans just before brewing. If you have your own bean grinder, using it daily is the second best way to ensure that your coffee doesn't age prematurely.

Store your coffee properly.

Store your coffee beans in a sealed container (like the valve-sealed bag used by Paradise Valley Coffee) and in a dark dry cool place. Do not freeze or refrigerate coffee.

What is the best way to prepare your Paradise Valley Coffee?

The best way to enjoy your Paradise Valley Coffee is to keep it simple. A Chemex pour over works very well; a french press will also bring out all of the best flavors in your coffee. Both of these are simple, inexpensive and can be taken anywhere.
